About GFR FILM-VIDEO

53 Years of Volunteer Work and Cinematic Magic in Požega

GFR FILM-VIDEO from Požega, Croatia, is a non-governmental organization (NGO) run entirely by volunteers. Established in 1973 and still thriving after more than five decades, we proudly organize, develop, and promote the following activities:

Main Project

Croatian One-Minute Film Festival

The oldest international film festival founded in the Republic of Croatia (established in 1993). This year, we are celebrating its 34th edition, which also makes it the longest-running one-minute film festival in the world.

In numbers: Over the past 34 editions, approximately 15,000 films from 135 countries across all continents have been submitted to the festival.

Continuous Programs & Education

Film Education for Young Filmmakers

For 53 years, we have been hosting film and video courses, training generations of youth and producing around 390 films with over 2,000 participants.

Požega Film Week

Established in 2014, this program features intensive film workshops and curated film screenings designed for audiences of all ages.

Photography Exhibitions

Alongside our film work, we have a long-standing tradition of organizing art photography exhibitions, with around 40 showcases held to date.

International Recognition & Global Reach

Presentation at UNESCO: In October 2004, we had the distinct honor of presenting a curated program of one-minute films to UNESCO ambassadors in Paris, France.

Oscar Winner in Our Jury: In 2018 and 2026,  the president of our festival jury was the acclaimed Polish production designer and Oscar winner, Allan Starski (celebrated for his work on Schindler's List).

Exhibition in Prague: From June 15 to August 31, 2024, one-minute films from our festival archives were featured and screened in a newly opened museum in Prague, Czech Republic (Karmelitska St.).
